ABOUT

Hi, I’m Scott – I’m an accredited CBT therapist with over 13 years’ experience working with young people, and for the past 7 years I’ve focused on supporting children and families. I work in NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Manchester and have supported children, teenagers and adults through therapy. One of the things I value most is building a strong, collaborative relationship. Therapy works best when we explore things together. I’m qualified as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, Systemic Family Practitioner, Social Worker and Teacher – which means I bring different perspectives and adapt therapy to suit you. I support a wide range of issues including anxiety (GAD, social anxiety, panic, OCD), depression, stress, low self-esteem, body image, trauma (PTSD), phobias, and relationship or family difficulties. I’ve also worked with many young people struggling with self-harm, suicidal thoughts, or intense emotions. I’m particularly interested in working with minority groups, including LGBTQ+ individuals and those with neurodiverse experiences like autism and ADHD. Diagnosed with ADHD in my 30s, I bring both professional knowledge and personal insight into the challenges of mental health and diagnosis. I take a broader view of mental health, believing problems aren’t just within the person but shaped by relationships, environments, culture and life experiences. I don’t believe in blame or judgement. Together we explore how difficulties have developed, what keeps them going, and how to make positive change. Therapy is about moving forward as well as looking back. Whether you’re facing a specific issue, feeling stuck, or want a space to reflect, I’m here to help. I offer more online sessions but have limited in-person availability across Manchester. If this feels like a good fit, please get in touch – I’d love to hear from you. Sessions are 50 minutes long - In-person would cost more due to room booking.
